The University of Illinois’ championship men’s basketball team partnered with the Urbana-Champaign campus’ Chabad Center for Jewish Student Life, its traditionally Jewish Zeta Beta Tau fraternity, and the Stuart I. Raskas Freindship Circle of Illinois, a Chabad-Lubavitch program that pairs teenage volunteers with children for special needs, for the annual “Alley-oop for Autism” day of fun at the arena.

Students at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign mourned the sudden passing of Joshua Jared Hardy, a junior finance major who took a lead in his fraternity’s social action initiatives.

Some 50 teenage volunteers who provide much-needed friendship for children with special needs gathered for a three-day conference in suburban Detroit, flying in for the occasion from cities around the world.
